Christmas is Love

Good morning to one and all. Many thanks for stopping by and a big thank you to those of you who took the time to leave me a comment, I really do appreciate every single one of them! Today's post is just a quick one as I have to pull my finger out in order to be ready for Christmas, which I can't believe is now less than one week away - aaargh I can feel the panic starting to set in! I thought I'd finished all my Christmas cards and then realised I hadn't done one for my DH - oops! so here it is.

I used a Kenny K digi image called Mistletoe, I love these Kenny K images, they are great to colour and make brilliant images for a man's card. I find men's cards a challenge as I can't add my usual bling and girlie bits. I coloured her in with my Copics and used my Prismacolor pencils to add some depth to the colouring. I glittered all her fur trims with Stickles Star Dust and distressed the edges of the image with a Stempelglede Flourish Heart stamp then I stamped a Forever friends sentiment to the edge. My sentiment is a freebie, I can't remember where I downloaded it (sorry!)

I cut out my image using a Nestie oval die which I mounted onto red card from my stash and die cut my Marianne poinsettia out of the same card, then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist and added a Prima flower centre for a little bit of bling! The backing paper is glittered cardstock in black and some Christmas wrapping paper that I glued onto some more of the red card with a punched edge using Martha Stewarts Aspen Snowflakes punch.  To finish off I added some black ribbon and some feathers from my stash for texture.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I'm off into town to finish my Christmas present shopping today, will be wrapping tomorrow, cleaning on Wednesday, meeting a good friend for lunch and a catch up on Thursday, my son is home from uni for Christmas on Friday - can't wait to see him, and I have to do a big food shop before he arrives too! as well as the 1001 other things that have been neglected whilst crafting & blogging my hours away! Not much time for crafting this week then : ( Though I might just manage to squeeze another card in before the big day. Whatever you're doing, stay safe and warm. Thank you again for stopping by and please take a minute to leave me a comment and then I can visit you too.

Lots of Letters

Good Morning you lovely bloggers. I'm up far too early on this bitterly cold day! Thank you so much for all your comments I really do look forward to reading them. Welcome to my new followers as well as those of you who have followed me for a while too. Today's post is my last Christmas card for this year. (I think!!)

I used the gorgeous LOTV stamp called Lots of Letters, it has lots of detail and I found it quite fiddly to colour, it's amazing how such a small image can take so long to colour! I coloured it with my new Copics and used my Prismacolor pencils to add some definition.

I used my lovely Marianne poinsettia die on some shimmer paper for the flower and added a crystal brad to the centre, I added some leaves behind the flower using my Magnolia leaf die and my Memory Box Frostyville Border die along the bottom, I love all the detail on this die, it's so pretty. The papers I used were from my stash (I'm not buying any more papers, until I've used some of the mountain that I already have!! - well that's what I'm saying today anyway - lol) Here's a close up of the coloured image:

I finished off with lots of Stickles star dust for my obligatory sparkle and a pre-cut sentiment that I think is from Little Clare. I usually struggle with what to put where on my cards, but once I had finished my colouring, this card seemed to come together easily, which is a first for me!

I finally managed to put my Christmas tree up this week and have bought and wrapped some presents, so I feel a bit more on top of things now. I still have to write out all my cards, that's a job for this week. I've been to a Christmas carol service today, the choir was fabulous and I came away feeling more festive than I did when I went in!

Under the Mistletoe

Good morning lovely bloggers. A warm welcome to my lovely new followers and a big thank you to those of you who have left me some wonderful comments, I really do appreciate you all :))
It's soo cold, I plan to stay indoors today dressed in cosy clothes (pj's and dressing gown!!) and my heating on. I might even attempt to put my tree up, although I still haven't found the clear lights I want for it, so I might have to pop out to The Range, (just for the lights of course!)

I received my new Copics in the post and have been following Bev Rochester's fab colouring video tutorial here. Bev makes it look soo easy, but I persevered and am pleased with what I did :) I also finished my colouring off with my Prismacolor pencils. This is the first time I've combined the two and the result is here:

I stamped up one of my lovely LOTV Christmas stamps called Under the Mistletoe, this cute stamp is one of many that have been waiting to see the light of day, I told myself I wouldn't order any more new ones, until I'd used all the others I have, at least once, but I keep seeing all these beautiful images and before I know it, they're in my shopping basket and on their way to me!! I think it's called addiction - lol.

I did a PATP with Martha Stewarts Aspen Snowflakes punches and used papers from my stash (something else I have far too much of - but never the right ones of course!!) I used my new Marianne Poinsettia Die on some voile shimmer paper for the flower and added a pre-cut sentiment mounted onto the same backing card that I used behind my image, that I think I bought from Little Clare. I've bought so much stuff recently, that I'm not sure what I bought from where!! I also added some lovely green sparkling trim by Papermania for some texture and some snowflakes, then finished off with lots of sparkle. I even made a box for it as these PATP edged cards won't fit into their envelopes! Speaking of envelopes, I have ordered some box envelopes for any 6" x 6" cards that have raised details such as flowers on them, from Tracey at Craftezee, they are very reasonably priced and you can get yours here

I've just noticed that my pictures look a bit blurred and have realised that I have a fingerprint or something right in the middle of my lens, I want to get this posted so will try and post a clearer picture at some point when I'm not in a rush.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

That's it for now. Many thanks for stopping by, please leave me a comment (they let me know you've been) and I can visit you too. Whatever you're doing today, have a happy day and keep warm!

Bye for now

A Present for You

Hello and a big thank you to all of you who have left me some wonderful comments, they are very much appreciated, and a warm hello to my new followers.

I can't believe we're now in December, I've been soo busy crafting that the other stuff I need to do for Christmas has been neglected, so I must get a move on, or else I'll be rushing around at the last minute and I can't stand the crowded shops and all those queues, I just like to go for a leisurely wander and enjoy the festive atmosphere! Anyhow, I have another Christmas card to share with you today using a delightful Magnolia Tilda who is just so cute!

I coloured her with my usual Pro Markers. I've bought myself an early Christmas present! of a set of Copic markers that a lot of bloggers use. They do seem to colour up beautifully, so I shall be trying them out on my next creation!

Bass Dude

Good morning lovely bloggers, it's so windy here today, I'm a fair weather girl! so another day indoors for me I think!

I have a card I made using a Kenny K digi image, called Bass Dude. I find Christmas cards for men such a challenge, but am pleased with how this has turned out (it's so much better in real life), it's for my son who's away at uni doing music and his instrument is the bass guitar, so this image is perfect for him. I kept the embellies to a minimum in order to enhance the lovely image. Everything I used is from my stash.

Light a Penny Candle

Hello again, I have a second card to share with you today, stamped with my Magnolia Tilda with Cross-stitch Heart. I love this stamp and it is one of my all time Magnolia favourites!

I coloured her with my usual Pro-Markers and distressed the edge of the image with a Stempelglede grunge flourish heart. I did a border all around my card with Martha Stewarts Aspen Snowflakes PATP, which I distressed. My papers and card were from my stash and so was my ribbon.

I used my Marianne Doily Die behind the image and an old Woodware punch for the snowflake that I punched out of holographic card. Then I added a Prima Say it in Pearls embellishment, bought from Quixotic Paperie, to the centre of the snowflake.

Finally, I added a Magnolia sentiment, added some crystals and glittered Tildas heart & candlelight.

Wonderful for You

Good morning, and a big hug to my new followers!

We have some lovely sunshine here this morning, I can't believe it's Christmas in only a month! I have managed to make most of my Christmas cards and have a couple of presents (wrapped)! I still have loads to do to make it happen in our house!! I've bought a new Christmas tree, I've gone for a white one this time, I've always had the traditional green, but thought white would make a nice change, but of course, none of my stash of baubles will match with it, I've decided to go for silver, black and red, so have to buy all new ones. Even my beautiful lights that I usually use won't do, as they are on green wires, which won't be right and I can't find any pretty ones on white or invisible wires!! Am sure I'll get there in the end. The pressure I put on myself over these little things, as I like everything matching ..................(lol)

Anyway onto today's card. This is for someone who is going through a tough time right now and is waiting for some life changing news! I've stamped up my lovely new Special Edition Tilda available here and used my usual Pro-Markers to colour her. I've read so much about how wonderful Copics are and have ordered myself a couple of sets, which I'm waiting for postie to bring, can't wait!

I forced myself to cut my beautiful new Trimcraft First Edition, Up Up & Away papers, they are glittered and soo pretty IRL. I used a small Marianne doily die behind my image.

I added leaves cut with the Magnolia leaf die behind the flowers, which were punched. I added tiny crystals to the centre of the flowers and some larger crystals to soften the corner on the image.

I used my Magnolia Butterfly die and popped some more tiny crystals on the stem.

Finally, I finished of with a LOTV sentiment mounted on some matching card, cut with my Nesties and added Liquid Pearl around the edge and some sparkly to Tildas presents.

Something for You - Gift Tag

Hello Just a quick post on this grey day! I've made my first ever gift tag. I made it to match my previous post, Something for You card.

I again used Magnolias Something for You Tilda, coloured her with Pro-Markers, die cut my new Memory Box Bianca Snowflake with holographic card, a LOTV sentiment stamp, I added my usual sparkly to Tilda's fur and present, Liquid Pearls around the sentiment mount and used some ribbon and backing paper from my stash.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Something for You

Good Evening all,

Firstly welcome to my new followers, I'm so pleased that you think that my blog is worth following!!

I've been busy making a special Christmas card, but I can't mention who it's for in case she visits my blog! but she's someone very special in my life..... I've used another of my unused Magnolia Tilda stamps and coloured her with my Pro-markers. I kept the layout on the card very simple as I wanted to show off the beautiful punch around the page edging that I first saw on Mandy's fab blog - http://asprinklingofglitter.blogspot.com Mandy has a great tutorial on how to do this, it was so easy to follow and is so effective.

I used a glitter background paper from my stash, a ribbon from Little Clare's website and finished of with a LOTV sentiment and of course lots of sparkly! I'm so pleased with the end result.

I keep watching colouring tutorials on You Tube as I still need to work on getting my colouring up to scratch, but it's much harder than it looks!! but hopefully I will improve over time..........

I also followed Mandy's tutorial on how to make a box to fit a card with a PATP edge, as it won't fit in a regular square envelope and anyway, it's so much nicer to give it in a box! It was my first attempt at making a box and again, it was so easy to do!

I decorated the front of the box with a Christmas tree I made with some real Swarovski crystals, that I'd bought for another project and not got round to using!!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/ Week #50 Holly or Wreaths (but any Christmas card will do)
http://foreverfriendschallengeblog.blogspot.com/ Christmas is Coming

That's all for now. Thank you for stopping by and please be kind enough to leave me a comment to let me know you've been and I can return the favour. I'm just going to link up to the challenges now and then it's off to bed for me.

Bye for now.

Loving Christmas Wishes

Hello again, It's so cold and gloomy, that I don't want to go out of the house, so after a quick dash to Tesco to stock up my fridge and food cupboard, Now I'm tucked up indoors, chores done, spending my time either crafting or visiting all the lovely blogs I follow. I'm seeing so many wonderful creations and of course I have to have all the stamps, dies and embellishments that are needed to create them, as well as all the other 'essential' goodies that seem to find their way into my basket!! On-line ordering from all the various craft suppliers is too easy and I end up spending a fortune. I won't mention that I have loads of stamps and dies that are still unused!! - lol.

I wanted to enter the http://magnoliastamplovers.blogspot.com/ Christmas Challenge which runs until 19th November. The only requirement is to use a Magnolia stamp:

I finally inked up one of my many unused Tildas and coloured her in with Prismacolor pencils.
The doily was made with a Magnolia Doily die, the papers and card were from my stash, and I added a couple of die cuts that were sent to me free with an order from Dies to Die for - I loved the Memory Box Frostyville Border die so much that I've ordered myself one, though I'm still waiting for the postie to bring it. I used a McGill Multi Tickets punch to make the ticket and stamped a Magnolia sentiment on it, I also added a Prima 'Say it in Pearls' embellishment and finally I heat embossed some snowflakes to the doily and added crystals around the edge, and finished off with lots of sparkly.

Many thanks for coming by. Have a lovely evening.

Bye for now.

Tag Pocket Christmas Card

Hello again, Just a very quick posting today. I couldn't resist this challenge http://flourishes.org 'Tag, you're it' and made this card for it, using some papers that came free in a magazine I bought last year, and stuff from my stash. There is no colouring on this card, but I added lots of sparkly and little sentiments (which you can't see properly on my photo!) on the pull out tags. I know I wanted to create something with my new buys - but I'll do it tomorrow!! Lol

Hope it inspires you to join this lovely challenge too!

That's all for now. Thank you for popping by. Hugs. Vicki x

It's my Party

Hello, I'm sharing a card I made for my friends birthday. I used my new LOTV stamp, coloured with my Pro-markers, Magnolia doily die, Magnolia leaf die, Petaloo flowers, old papers and card from my stash. The sentiment is by Penny Black, I used my nesties for the badge and added lots of sparkly.

Fly me to the Moon

Hello ladies, I've been busy visiting lots of blogs and becoming a follower, as I've just realised that I receive all the latest goings on in my blogger dashboard of the blogs I am following - there is some amazing talent out there and I want to attempt to make soo many cards similar to the ones I've seen. I also order so many goodies to be able to craft my 'new creations'. It's costing me a small fortune! and I think I'm being creative, but all I'm really doing is staring at my computer screen - lol. I have managed to make a card to enter into this weeks http://magnoliastamplovers.blogspot.com/ Black challenge:

I used my Magnolia Astronaut Tilda and had my first attempt at masking! and sat her on the Magnolia Rocket from the same collection. I coloured her with Pro-markers and Copics, added some Diamond Stickles and coated her 'helmet' with Anita's 3-D Clear Gloss Finish, which really shines in real life. I stamped the Magnolia sentiment and heat embossed with Heat it Up embossing powder to give a 3D effect. I used card and papers from my stash, added some black ribbon and some silver stars.
Here's a closer look:

And finally a closer look at the embossed sentiment:

Apologies for the dark pictures, but it's such a dull, overcast day today that there's hardly any natural light and  my pictures turn out with so much glare when I use my flash, that you can't see them!
That's all for now.
Have a happy Saturday whatever you're doing and thank you for stopping by.
Hugs,
Vicki x

No Peeking!

Good morning, I'm up far too early today, adjusting the clocks this weekend seems to have put my body clock out. Before I post my picture, I want to say thank you and welcome to my new followers, am so pleased that some people think that my work is worth following. Here is a simple card made using a Little Clare stamp an LOTV sentiment, papers and brads from my stash.

Having just uploaded my photo, I realise I've forgotten to add my sparkle - I thought there was something missing!

I've been seeing personalised stamps on other blogs and eventually discovered you can have these made at Bunny Zoes Crafts, so I ordered myself one and was so excited when it arrived. I used it on the back of this card:

Walkies!

Hello again. Have been looking through lots of lovely blogs and am amazed at some of the talent out there. I came across the http://cardsformen.blogspot.com/ on my blog visits and thought I'd enter this card I've made for my future son-in-laws birthday into their challenge this week, the theme is animals. I used a KennyK digi stamp for the image and my EK punch for the borders, the sentiment is from a male themed stamp set from Little Clare. I finished off with 3 small brads - as there's not much in the way of embellies that can be used on a man's card!!
Thanks to those of you who have left me your kind comments, they are very much appreciated.
Bye for now, Vicki x

Butterfly Dreams

Hello, here is a card I made for Sentimental Sundays challenge #51 Celebrate Spring / Easter. I have a thing about butterflies and normally use this Penny Black 'Butterly Edge' stamp for the back of my cards, but I wanted to create something with this image on the front. I've added Stickles black diamond for some bling on the wings of the butterflies, but it doesn't show too well on the picture. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.............. Cheers!

I've made a very quick card for my Uncle John's birthday. Ideas for mens cards don't come easily to me, but I'm pleased with this! and I don't normally do such simple cards...

and the inside

Apologies for the darkness of the pics, just not enough light and the card look much better in real life!

Magnolia madness!

Hello, hope everyone is keeping well and happy. I've been busy making a couple of Easter cards as well as some other Tilda images that I've been wanting to stamp up and just not got round to! (probably because I'm too busy blog hopping and looking at all the gorgeous cards on some fabulous blogs, there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day.) I want to use some of my massive paper collection before I buy anymore - lol - I keep seeing lovely new papers that I just can't resist, so I have a lot of cards to make before I can let myself buy more papers - honest :)) I am going to buy some fancy dies that I saw on some gorgeous cards on Lydia's blog 'My Little Craft Haven' as they really made the images stand out. Hope you like my cards, I haven't found any challenges to enter them into yet! - that's what I'm doing next...............

That's all for now, thank you for stopping by. Hugs, Vicki x

This is just a quick post as I want to share this song by Adele with you that I'm loving at the moment, It's not dancey, but she has an amazing voice. Hope you like it too. Thank you for stopping by and for all your lovely comments. Enjoy.............................

Just Checking!

Hello all, a late post for me tonight, here's a card i've made using a Mo Manning digi. I coloured her using my Pro Markers during my trip to Devon. The weather was beautiful and all that fresh sea air and change of scenery gave me the courage to practice my colouring - I like to have something to look at for inspiration otherwise my mind is just blank! I'm also going to have a go at following Marcea's instructions (thanks hun, hope I get this link thing right) to download a video from You Tube to play along with Music Saves my Soul
Gosh, I can't believe that just worked!! Hope it works for you - enjoy. Thank you for stopping by have a great week. Hugs. Vicki xx

Pom Diddly

Just a quick post before I go to pack for my trip to Torbay this weekend. Will be taking my Pro-Markers and some images I've stamped up to keep me busy while I'm there.
I made this card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge 88 - Sketch by Bev. I still don't know how to link properly to a challenge, but will have another go, hope I get it right this time!
I adore all the Lili of the Valley stamps, they're just soo cute, I keep buying them and then they don't even see an ink pad - am sure I can't be the only one that does this?
Many thanks to all those who have left me comments, I love to find new ones when I log on, it's so lovely that people take the time to leave me some feedback, so please keep the comments coming, I always go to the blogs of people who have left me a comment and am finding some wonderful work which fills me with inspiration, I just need more confidence with my colouring...........  I shall have to learn how to make my blog look a bit prettier too, as there are some beautiful blogs out there, which make mine look a bit poor- but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day! lol. Hugs, Vicki x

Double Fairy Blessings

I was so pleased with the first one of these cards that I've made another! coloured in again with my Pro-Markers, this time I used Amethyst on top of a Copic Ciao Lavender for her dress and added a grey to the folds of the dress to shade. I need to practise colouring black hair, well I need to practise my colouring full stop! lol.
